NAJ Gives the Gov’t Until Midday to Pay December Salaries

President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, NAJ, Patsy Edwards Henry, has given the government a deadline of midday today to ensure nurses are paid their December salaries.

The deadline comes following widespread disappointment at yesterday’s delay in the payment of salaries to her members.

Thousands of health care workers across all four health regions were told yesterday that salaries would be delayed for the month of December.

The delay is being attributed to the ongoing government compensation review exercise. Yesterday was the first real test of the new system.

Edwards Henry says her members are demotivated by the salary delay.
